REMOTE LEARNING

SLJ's remote learning instructional plan has been formulated by our teachers' understanding of our learners, how to best capture the most important content and learning objectives that were planned for this time of year, and an understanding that this is a challenging and uncertain time for all of us and learning in a virtual space will be an adjustment for everyone.

Google Classrooms is the primary platform for online learning.  Students should have signed up for each of their classes using the course codes provided by their Grade Team Leader.  Teachers have posted assignments that are to be submitted by the given deadlines and they will provide feedback and grades via Skedula within a week.  The grading policy for SLJ remains consistent: 70% summative; 20% formative; 10% scholarly habits.

All students are expected to answer a daily assignment question by 12 noon to be considered "present" and in attendance for remote learning. Attendance tracking is required by the NYC Dept. of Education.

Each week, the student’s advisor will check in with the student regarding their progress.  However, students do not need to wait for this to request help.  Should you or your child have a concern or question, please reach out to your advisor.
